This is a Russian Ruble from the very short reign of Peter III that I have to say is a stellar example compared to all the auctions that I looked at in prep for posting this item. The originality of the coin, the color … I don’t know, this might just go into the deep stack along with the other world coins that I purchased together in this lot. A little on Peter III… the dude only reigned for 6 months until his WIFE overthrew him from the throne. His foreign policies were too “pro-Prussian” for his people’s liking as well as for his wife, Catherine II (or The Great). I don’t know how one lives this down … trouble at home Peter??
